Educational, not a diagnosis.
I share a great deal of education about corrective skin care. Here is the honest boundary around all of it, and what still has to happen in person.
1. Why this page exists.
I publish a lot of education about skin health, more than most studios do, because informed clients make better decisions. But general information written for everybody cannot account for your skin, your history, your medications or your goals. Only an assessment can.
2. Every treatment starts with an assessment.
Before any treatment, I take a history and assess your skin. Sometimes the outcome of that appointment is that we do not treat that day, or we treat something other than what you came in for. That is the consultation doing its job.
3. Results vary, and no result is guaranteed.
Outcomes depend on your skin type and tone, your health, your healing response, your home care, and completing the plan we set. Before and after images on this site show real clients, with their consent. They are not a prediction of your result.
4. Every treatment carries some risk.
Corrective treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels can involve redness, sensitivity, peeling and temporary darkening of pigment, and rarely infection or scarring. Some risks are higher in melanin-rich skin or with certain histories, which is exactly why preparation and strength are chosen individually. The risks relevant to your plan will be explained to you, in full, before you consent to anything.
5. Tell me about your health.
Some conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy and breastfeeding affect whether a treatment is safe or appropriate. Please be complete and honest on your intake and at your consultation. If you are under a physician’s care for a medical condition, keep them in the loop.
6. Do not send health details online.
Please do not describe your medical history, medications or symptoms in a website form, an email or a social media message. Those channels are not secure and are not monitored clinically. My intake forms are the place for it, and the rest belongs in your consultation.
7. This site is not for emergencies.
If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are a client with an urgent concern after a treatment, call the clinic at 289-776-8257. Do not wait for a reply to an email or a direct message.
8. Who provides your care.
All services at The Skin Health Lab are provided by me, Pollianna Rolle, corrective skin specialist and medical aesthetician. I provide aesthetic skin care within that scope. I recommend care based on assessment; I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication. When something sits outside my scope, I will tell you plainly and point you to your physician or a dermatologist.
9. Products and pricing.
I use products authorised for sale in Canada. Prices and availability change, and anything shown on this site is confirmed at your consultation. Buying a product is not a treatment plan.
10. Third-party content.
Where this site references external research, guidelines or manufacturer information, that content belongs to its authors. It is included for context, not as a substitute for your own clinician’s judgement.
